Robert Shea
artistic director and producer
New Art Theatre
Bob Shea has worked professionally as an actor, director, producer, and
performing arts educator for the past 30 years. He currently serves as director
of the Dana Center, a regional performing arts center at Saint Anselm College,
Manchester, NH. In this capacity, Bob presents some of America’s and the world’s
most accomplished artists in theatre, dance, music and international folk art.
In recent years, Bob served as artistic director for The Barnstormers Theatre in
Tamworth NH, America’s oldest professional summer theatre company; and as Vice
President for Academic Affairs of the New Hampshire Institute of Art. Bob served
as Artistic/ Executive Director of the The Palace Theatre from 1983 to 1995. As
a young professional, Bob served as director and manager of the New England
Repertory Company, a touring American educational theatre company in Great
Britain from 1975-1978. In 1980, Bob received a master of fine arts degree from
the University of Memphis in performing arts.
